    this is the three-wheel hand-crank wheelchair class. i've never talked to wheelchair users here to see if there is a preference between these or the standard two-wheel variety. i imagine that those lucky enough to get a wheelchair aren't too choosy.

    the gear ratio on these is pretty low, probably so they can get up hills, so their hands were absolutely cranking here on this slightly downhill start. it probably would have been a good idea to go with a lower shutter speed to get some blur and emphasize how fast their arms were moving. here's an example of a blurry wheelchair shot.

    i like the difference in expression between the guy on the left and the guy in the middle.
