this was around 6:15 pm. we had to leave to make it home by dark, me kicking and screaming, wanting to stay and use the perfect light. but i live to shoot another day.
i took a while to inch up to this bird who was plenty habituated though still being spooked by other passers by. this shot was at the limit of my lens' near focus range, which is listed at .9 meters.

and now that i look at it in context, it's interesting how similar the colors of this image are to the colors in the market in day 13.
