what can be said about a still life? i usually look for contrasting backgrounds and light when setting up a still life, though if possible i like to have some context in there as well.
this is our new voltage converter for plugging in our 110V appliances into african 220V outlets. both the plug and wall outlet are visible, as is the fact that the plug and outlet are different.
something i notice a lot in cinematography is that shots are set up so the light on an actors face contrasts with the light in the background. so it is here. the object is lit from our left and shaded on the right. the wall behind is shaded on our left and lighter to the right.
