well here we have another bee-eater in the morning sun but no dark background. it doesn't stand out so much against the light blue sky. bird photography can be tricky because, well, birds are often in front of the sky them being birds and all.
especially when you're following an active bird that's hopping around you have to be quick with your exposure settings. shooting in aperture priority, i'm always dialing up and down exposure compensation as much as two stops plus or minus depending on what the background is.
