night sky in lake mburo natl park

  1. same as any big city, the dust and the light pollution in kampala make it not so ideal for stargazing. so it was great that we had a clear skies for our one night in lake mburo national park. the little building in the photo is our banda, the light provided by a kerosene lantern.

it took a while to dial in the exposure since i haven't done much long exposure night photography. i just set the camera on a rolled-up jacket on the roof of the car. exposure time was 30 seconds at f/2.8 and iso 800.

  2. That is an amazing photo. I'm glad to have stumbled across it.
