same as any big city, the dust and the light pollution in kampala make it not so ideal for stargazing. so it was great that we had a clear skies for our one night in lake mburo national park. the little building in the photo is our banda, the light provided by a kerosene lantern.
it took a while to dial in the exposure since i haven't done much long exposure night photography. i just set the camera on a rolled-up jacket on the roof of the car. exposure time was 30 seconds at f/2.8 and iso 800.
