the techie thing about this photo is that i'm hand-held at an effective 320mm focal length (200mm x 1.6 sensor) and have a sharp image at 1/60 second shutter speed. the image stabilizer lenses really do good work.
rule of thumb for hand-held images without blur from an unsteady camera is shutter speed 1/focal length, so should have been 1/320 second here. i was already wide open at f/2.8 and didn't want to up the ISO because i want all the detail i can get from the feathers.
