after a long labor day wknd with blue sky and temps in the 80s, northern MN september reality set in.
after the sunset, the sky and the lake were a really dark steel blue. it just looked cold.
i shot this with my 50mm 1.4 wide open. now that i have the larger sensor on my 1d (1.3x vs 1.6x of the 20d), the loss of sharpness and loss of light towards the corners starts to show up with that less-expensive lens. especially wide open.
i love the look, though, and it has me thinking that maybe i should play with some other cheap lenses. although i think it's funny to use a $3500 camera to try to copy the look of a $50 holga or diana.
