after a full day of refresher courses on microfinance, as well as a dance performance for their guests, these women were ready to EAT. it is an amazing thing to see the plates of food that ugandans can put down. i don't know if i could have even kept up in my skiing days.
on tap was rice, beans, meat stew, and cabbage. i didn't have any, but i think that the beans were black beans, which aren't found in central uganda.
this was a good example of being in a situation where the subject is a lot more interested in what they are doing than the photographer. makes for good photos of people acting naturally.
Love this one... quintessentially Ugandan (the pink flowers on the small cooking pot, the red striped fabric on the foreground skirt, the flip flops, the tame tags made on masking tape, the heaping portions). I think this might be one of my faves you've ever taken in UG. Makes me feel like I'm back 'home'.
i give notes and commentary on all of my photos in the comments section. click thegreenpost title to show that photo with my comments below. please add your own comments or critiques and thanks for checking in! -phil
