the other day after spending a few minutes looking at a red-chested sunbird through binocs, i decided to check the bird book. as it turned out, i had been looking at an olive-bellied sunbird. so i looked back at all the photos that i had taken of red-chested sunbirds and it turned out most of those were actually olive-bellied sunbirds. at least that explained why the (actually) red-chested sunbirds that we saw on our trips looked so different from the (not) red-chested sunbirds we saw at home.
so yeah, this isn't a red-chested sunbird as stated in the post title.
